Increase Heart-Health!

February is American Heart Month. The heart is so important. If it stops working correctly, so do we. We therefore should make it a priority to keep our heart healthy and strong. Below is a list of ways that we can keep our heart at its best.

1. Strength Training

Lifting weights increases many beneficial hormones , reduces blood pressure, and decreases LDL cholesterol.

2. Omega-3

Omega-3 fatty acids are a crucial nutrient for overall health. Your body doesn’t produce omega-3s on its own, which means they are “essential fatty acids," you have to consume them. ANd when consumed they lower the risk of heart disease.

3. Lower Stress

Hard to do? Of course. But it is a must. Increased stress levels cause inflammation around the heart and raises blood pressure.

4. Endurance Training

Aerobic exercise or endurance training helps improve stamina and the ability for the heart to pump oxeganated blood and keep the arteries clean.

5. Eat Fruits and Veggies

Eating fruits and vegetables contains many beneficial vitamins, minerals and nutrients which are vital for heart health and our overall body.

6. Tea!

Tea has so many benefits to the heart! Especially green tea. Teas are anti-inflammatory, anti hypertensive, lots of antioxidants, along with lipid lowering effects.
