Lets be honest. Not all of us like to workout AND stretch. But, did you know that regular stretching is just as important as exercise?
1) Helps improve flexibility and increases your range of motion. 2) Assists in correct posture by lengthening tight muscles that pull areas of the body away from their intended position. 3) Decrease injury to muscles. 4) Reduces soreness. 5) Calm the mind and release tension.
Many people feel that stretching before a work-out is best, but, try starting with a short body warm-up with movements of your arms and legs to get your muscles warm; and a warm-up that stimulates the movements you will be doing during your work-out in order to prepare your body. Then once your work-out in complete: stretch, stretch, stretch! Your muscles are now hot and ready to be lengthened and stretched.
