Become a Happier You

Most of us want to be happy. We strive for things that make us feel good, make us smile and that we enjoy. But it is not always easy, life gets in the way, things may bring us down. But just because things are hard, does not mean we cannot be happy. Mindset is everything.

There are many factors that contribute to your happiness and we ALL have views of what happiness is. There are some general things you can do to help yourself achieve it. If you want to become a happier person, these steps can help you on your way to a more positive life.

Try these steps to help train our minds for a more positive mindset.

Let go of comparisons. Everyone has different strengths, everyone has different weaknesses. Comparing yourself to someone else, such as saying, “I’m training just like her, but not seeing the same results” creates self doubt. Remember that everyone has their own strengths and everyone’s journey is different. Next time you are about to compare yourself, think of something you’re good at, something you enjoy or something you’ve recently achieved.

Learn to embrace a more positive mindset. Learn to say no from time to time. You are also responsible for caring for yourself. Remember, if you’re close to burning out because you’re always trying to help everyone else, caring for you becomes harder. As you begin to focus on making your needs a priority, it becomes easier to say no when you want to.

Look for the positives. Even on days when you feel like everything has gone wrong, there will be something you can be thankful for. Look for the positives in every day, start appreciating them and you’ll soon notice your mindset changing and becoming happier. My husband always says, what are three good things that happened today. Try it! And don’t forget to always be grateful for being able to move, breathe and being apart of life.

Do things you love. When you do things you enjoy, you feel happier! If you love to dance, turn on the tunes and jam out. If you love reading, try to read a bit more. Try to do things that help to recharge your mental batteries and you’ll find that stress and other pressures can start to melt away. Small actions like these can make a big difference to your happiness level!

Continue to educate yourself and self affirmation. Self-education can help you to feel happier because it increases your confidence. Do your own research, sign up for a class or hire a trainer. Then tell yourself you can do it and be proud of every step you make AND every amount of progress.

GET MOVING! Studies have proven that moving your body, even just by walking more, not only makes your feel better, but boost your mood! So set aside time for yourself and moving your body.

And each day, don’t forget to let yourself know that you are worthy. Every experience is different, challenging factors arise, but we can train out mind to have a more positive mindset.
